My name is Florent Chronie-De Maria, I’m a French composer and music supervisor based in Oslo, Norway. Growing up in the hardcore scene in France, I played in several bands and published a few fanzines before shifting my focus to music for images. Since 2005, I’ve been involved in both music supervision and composition for a range of projects.
In 2006, I released an album under the duo name Toymaker on the Japanese label Rallye Label, and have also worked on ephemeral projects with Ai Ai Gasa and Odd Collective.
I began my career composing and supervising soundtracks for advertising campaigns and skateboarding/snowboarding films before transitioning to work on fiction and drama projects, often in collaboration with Jeremy Villecourt.
One of my most recent projects, Dates In Real Life, a TV series directed by Jakob Rørvik, has received widespread acclaim in 2024. It won the Rose d'Or in the Comedy-Drama category, the Prix Europa for Best European Video Fiction Series, and Best Series at the International Panorama of Series Mania, among other accolades. I contributed to the series by composing the soundtrack and overseeing music supervision.
Following that, I composed the music for the French drama Sukwann Island, which was selected for the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at Sundance.
